Kevin Ramundo succeeded by Mary Page, Ali Zarabi to serve as Vice-President
Warrenton, VA (Oct. 30, 2025) – After five years of dedicated service as President of Citizens for Fauquier County (CFFC), Kevin Ramundo has announced that he will be stepping down from his role effective November 1st. He will be succeeded by long-time board member Mary Page, who has been unanimously elected as the next President of the organization. In addition, Ali Zarabi will serve as Vice-President of CFFC. Ramundo plans to remain on the CFFC Board.
Ramundo, a former corporate communications executive, joined the CFFC Board in 2017 and ascended to the presidency in November 2020. During his five-year tenure, the organization has achieved significant milestones: membership has grown substantially, financial donations have increased, and CFFC’s visibility across the County has expanded. Under Ramundo’s leadership, fourteen new board members with critically important skills and experience joined the Board, which enhanced CFFC’s ability to address unprecedented development and conservation challenges. As a result, CFFC is now much better equipped to respond effectively to threats such as utility-scale data centers, which pose potential risks to the local environment and quality of life.
Reflecting on his time as President, Ramundo said: “It has been a true privilege to serve as CFFC’s president and to have helped preserve what makes Fauquier so special. CFFC is well equipped to continue its 58-year track record of providing thoughtful solutions to protect the county’s rural traditions. I look forward to supporting Mary Page and Ali Zarabi in their new roles and want to thank our board, our 2,000 members and followers, and other organizations for their support and partnership.”
Mary Page, a Scott District resident and longtime CFFC Board member of nearly 20 years, has been a steadfast advocate for responsible land use in Fauquier County. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she earned her degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh. Before settling in Fauquier County with her husband and three children, Page taught riding in Pennsylvania and Illinois, coaching students who went on to earn year-end awards at both regional and national competitions.
As the founding President of RideFauquier, a pioneering initiative that created a public riding arena and trailhead just outside Warrenton, Page has helped expand equestrian access in the community since the organization’s founding in 2007. She continues to serve in an advisory role with RideFauquier and contributes her time to the Pedestrian, Bicycles, and Greenways Advisory Committee, as well as the Warrenton Garden Club. With her deep community ties and long-standing leadership, Mary is exceptionally well positioned to guide CFFC into its next chapter.
“I am very much looking forward to helping CFFC continue its mission, to preserve and protect Fauquier’s longstanding agricultural heritage, and the spectacular countryside and open space that supports it,” said Page. “We have a team of such highly skilled Board Members; it is an honor to work with all of them.”
After attending schools in the Tidewater and Richmond areas, Zarabi began a successful career in the beauty industry in Washington, D.C. and has owned and operated his salon on Main Street in Old Town Warrenton for over thirty years. He served as the senior member of the Town of Warrenton Planning Commission for 22 years (and Vice Chair for three years). He previously served on the board of the Mental Health Association of Fauquier County and the Board of Trustees at Highland School in Warrenton, where both his children proudly attended. His long track record of civic service adds new depth to CFFC’s leadership.
CFFC welcomes this transition with gratitude for Ramundo’s leadership, and with enthusiasm for the enhanced team that will carry the organization’s mission forward: preserving the rural character of Fauquier County, offering thoughtful solutions to growth and development pressures, and maintaining vigilant advocacy for open space, agriculture, conservation, and the quality of life of all residents.
