Dear Friends,
As we near the anniversary of 250 years of independence, I realize that while we are a nation independent of foreign influences, we are very much dependent on one another. Our nation is blessed with many natural resources, and with as many through individual and collective acts of sacrifice, humility and enterprise.
We all know that this is evident in many corners of our great nation, but nowhere is it as visible as our own Fauquier County. Through collaboration and common cause, many have given their time, expertise, and resources to protect our environment, heritage, and history. Not because they were threatened by unchecked, unwise plans for their neighborhoods but to support the portions of our communities that are most vulnerable to exploitation by forces that may not have our best interests at heart.
As did our forefathers before us, we will continue to act with resolve and clarity of purpose to maintain this special land that has preceded us and will remain beautiful for many generations to come.
Happy 4th of July to all!

Ali Zarabi
President, Citizens for Fauquier County
