Commercial Neighborhood Ordinance on BOS Agenda for 8 July 2010 - Will future development in your neighborhood be impacted?  Check our C-1 Commercial Ordinance page.
White Marsh development in Bealeton has first BOS Public Hearing 8 July 2010 - this application was recommended for denial by the Planning Commission in December 2009 because it was incomplete, inconsistent, had numerous open issues, and did not meet the requirements of County Ordinances.  See our summary on the White Marsh page.
Check out the Catlett, Calverton, Midland Service District Comprehensive Plan update scheduled for 8 July 2010 BOS Hearing - will the Citizen Committee developed changes recommended by the Planning Commission in April of 2009 be approved, or will the developer proposal for Catlett Farm LLC submitted in June of 2009 influence the outcome.  The Supervisor's action on these changes has been continued since their earlier hearings. Check our Catlett, Calverton, and Midland pages to see the recommended comprehensive plan changes.  Information on the Catlett Farm LLC proposal is available from the Catlett Page.
950 Additional Dwellings In Catlett?  - The Catlett Farms LLC residential development application was presented to the Planning Commission at their April 29, 2010 Public Hearing.  The Commission recommended denial of the application and forwarded it to the Supervisors for consideration.  The proposal includes:
      950 residential units
95,000 square feet of commercial uses
307 acre wastewater treatment system with drip dispersal
15 acre school site located between two pipelines
Possibly another big tax bill for County residents!
See CFFC's initial analysis at our
Catlett Farms LLC page.

Update to Marshall Service District Plan goes to Planning Commission - On 29 April 2010 the Planning Commission had their first Public Hearing on the update to the Marshall Comprehensive Plan.  Action on this plan update has been delayed for 60 to 90 days while the Planning Commission reviews the document.  Check our Marshall page for CFFC comments.  We encourage you to review the plan update and provide your comments to the Planning Commissioners.
